Thomas Brooman (CBE)

Thomas was born and brought up in Bristol and he has been involved in music for all of his adult life.  

He was a co-founder of the WOMAD Festival and worked for 25 years as its Artistic Director, helping to organise more than 150 WOMAD Festivals and events all over the world.

In 2008 he was made a CBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List for his life services to music and charity.

Thomas organises the music activities at Urban Arts Space and the aim of the regular sessions is for them to be friendly and interesting, accessible and positive, allowing individuals and groups to come along, play music and generally relax in a creative environment.
