For young people Youth clubs Hanham About us Hanham Youth Club is a very popular youth centre in South Gloucestershire and Bristol, with young people joining to meet up with their friends and have fun every week. Join us to hang out with friends, meet new people and get friendly advice and support when you need it, from our dedicated youth workers. Opening times Hanham Youth Centre is open at the following times: Tuesdays: Chilled out Tuesday, 7:00-9:00pm, small group session Wednesdays: Year 7's and 8's Night, 7:00-9:00pm (£1 Entry), for 11-13 year olds. Thursdays: Year 9+ Night, 7-9:00pm, for 13-19 year olds. Fridays: Project Xclusive - 6:00-8:00pm, for 11-19 year olds REFER A YOUNG PERSON Club is fun, exciting and very friendly, and the best bit is getting involved with activities. Have fun Meet friends, listen to music, get creative. You can even learn to DJ, with a chance to perform with lights, lasers and smoke machines in our main social room. The youth club provides security and a safe place for me to spend my evenings. I also like the food and drink on offer at the bar! Plus I have made new friends. Hanham Youth Club is a chilled place where you just relax and have fun. I’d rather be here than at home! I came to club to make friends, and I have. Making new friends is something I find very hard. Get support and advice When you're not too busy having fun, we'll give you support and advice as you need it. Whether it's about problems at home or school, emotional and mental health issues, or questions about your future life and career - we can help you deal with the challenges you face. Hanham Youth Club to me is like my second home. The staff there are always there for you and look out for you making sure you feel safe. Club is somewhere I can go to relax and know that whatever I need, club will support me! To me it's the equivalent to a second home! Volunteer When you join us at the club, you'll see the passion and dedication that our youth workers have for their jobs. You might decide that you want to be an even bigger part of this tight community, by becoming a youth worker yourself. To get a better idea of what it's like as a job, you can volunteer with us at Hanham. Our volunteers, all between 16 and 19, are developing new skills and getting new experience every day, helping them build confidence and get a foot on the career ladder. I am both a regular member and a Volunteer Youth Worker. (I work one on one of our junior nights.) As a club member I have received a lot of support from the Hanham staff. This includes someone to listen to me when I need it. The support is always there but isn’t forced on me, which I like. Also, working as a volunteer has given me the chance to improve my skills, experience and confidence. I have a quality team of experienced staff and young volunteers who are passionate and committed to working with Young People. My team will always go the extra mile to help, support and advise. They are all fantastic role models for young people to learn from and develop. We ensure the youth club is a safe and secure place in which young people can express themselves whilst building positive relationships and developing a greater awareness of topical issues. I am proud to see many amazing young people grow and mature and use the skills developed at club into later life. Together we ensure we keep every session varied and excited.
