Arts For Life

BACK ON TRACK

Using arts activities to inspire young people supporting them through education, employment and training.

The range of arts we use to inspire and challenge the young people on each Arts For Life course include dance, graffiti, circus skills, animation, film making, music production, photography, sculpture and drama. Young people work on their own and in a team.

During the courses there’s a strong focus on conflict resolution, respect and personal space. We confront disruptive behaviour using one to one mentoring and team building.

At the end of each course everyone takes part in a public performance or exhibition – showing their parents, friends and teachers what they have achieved and how far they’ve come.

The results?

The impact on those who are attend or take part in an Art For Life workshop or course is dramatic. For most people there’s a major improvement in confidence, ability to work in a team, sticking with a project, creativity and empathy.

As one participant put it, ‘I’ve learned new skills, I’m better at speaking to people I haven’t met. Now I’ve got loads of confidence.’
