Youth For Youth

An award-winning youth arts team running events for young people, by young people. 

The Youth For Youth team meet each week at the Kingswood Estate to organise monthly music events and a big annual festival that takes place in Kingswood every year. 

PREMIX

Is a monthly Friday night music event that often sees over 200 young people coming to the Kingswood Estate, with five bands performing each month and is a platform for new local bands to showcase their talent.

The Main Event

Is a youth arts festival that attracts an audience of over 1000, bringing together singers, bands, dancers and performers over 2 stages at the Kingswood Estate. The young people fundraise, coordinate and manage all aspects of the festival.

Winning awards

The team has won two national awards, the Philip Lawrence Award and the Diana Award for Excellence. 

For two years running, the Youth For Youth team won the South Gloucestershire Safer Stronger Communities Award for their contribution in reducing crime local area. According to police statistics PREMIX has lowered crime by 23%. 

Caroline Parry, Youth For Youth Chair, won Young Person of the Year Award 2011 at the South Gloucestershire Safer Stronger Communities event. 

Members of Youth For Youth have even recently started training other youth groups and organisations in how to run and manage events.
