On Friday 13th of April, Youth For Youth took a trip with young Station drivers and the Basement Studio to the Roundhouse in Camden, London. The visit enabled them to see another youth led organisation based in the UK's Big Smoke. The Roundhouse is a spectacular venue, hosting a variety of entertainment, with professional equipment and staging areas. Young people can be involved in all areas from TV and Music Production to performance and engineering. Much like Youth For Youth themselves the Roundhouse is a charity, and with the opening of the Station fast approaching they found it inspiring to see a venue of this nature being supported and sustained by its community and young people alike.

It was an early start for those who were off to attend the Camden Round House. We met in front of Colston Hall at 11:00am with the Basement Studio guys and Station Drivers, got to know eachother and piled onto the mini coach off to Camden! On the journey we were all chatting and created some great thoughts and ideas for the event coming up very soon! It was a long journey but we made it through to London (not with out taking some awesome photo's first!) and shortly we arrived at Camden Roundhouse! We first had a tour and a talk about how long it has been there and had a tour of the area and saw there amazing recording space/equipment aswell as people practising all different sort of acts around us. We got to see spaces where other young adults would come and use the equipment and where they could perform aswell! We told them what we were all about and how we do things with young people also. After the tour we filled our stomachs with ice cream and headed off to Camden Market where excitement and curiosty was soon to follow! We got there and we literally walked into a place filled with different cultures and different people, it was almost as a wave of different types of people came at us as soon as we entered the market. We soon split off and explored different shops and area's like "Cyber Dog" and Camdens very own... Maccy D'S! We had a couple of hours to ourselves intil we returned back to the Round House for a very awesome performance called "Circkus Cikor's Underman". It was filled with a great mixture of different types of performing such as dance, acrobatics, poetry and music. In the middle of the performance the performers told us to move to a new seat and sit next to a stranger (normally i would'nt do this but i was near my friends) for the rest of the performance so we all got up and moved somewhere new. After aswell as before the performance we were kindly interviewed by "Wink Ball", they asked us what we thought of the performance and i replied by saying it was "simply amazing!". We left shortly after that and headed off to not so sunny Bristol with very tired eyes but amazed smiles. We got back at 12:30 am the next morning and parted our seperate ways, not before saying thank you to everyone who had taken us to this amazing place. It was truly an awesome experience to have and i wish some day i could go there again.
