Name: Nick Fogarty
Age: 23
Art form: Theatre

What made you apply for creative futures?

I applied for Creative Futures because it seemed like a great opportunity to further my skills in the business side of the arts, as well as being able to receive studio space and support towards creating a new piece.

Tell us about the work you are currently making?

I'm currently exploring the idea that our thoughts and behaviour are a representation of our unconscious mind. I'm also interested in geometry and patterns as representations for underlying structures in the world, and I intend to build a performance out of these two ideas, primarily using material from interviews and found sound.

What are you most excited to do on creative futures?

I am excited about learning new skills relating to being a freelance creative, and gaining a better understanding of how to make a living working in the creative industries. I'm also looking forward to running some workshops and engaging with a greater range of people than I had been before starting the project.

Where do you see yourself at the end of the programme?

By the end of the project I hope to have the skills and network to be able to continue to make work, whilst also having the confidence and belief that I can make a career in the creative industries!
