The applicant must have a passion for working with young people in the arts, and experience working with those excluded or at risk of being excluded from school. The role is designed to support the delivery a high quality creative course for young people at risk of disengaging from education, using the arts to support their transition back into a mainstream learning environment.

The assistant artist must be friendly and approachable, working with the lead artist to deliver a programme with tangible outcomes for a final showcase at the end of the eleven week programme.

We strongly encourage CVs from candidates who work in a flexible manner, and who have experience working with a variety of creative art forms. The successful freelancer will be working as the assistant artist alongside one lead artist within the school environment, with sessions supported by a member of staff from the school and the Complementary Education Coordinator from CYN.

Rate of pay: £15 per hour of delivery (2 hours per week)

Hours: 2 hours per week on a Thursday afternoon
