About the online workshop

13-19 and interested in animation? Take a virtual tour of Bristol Museum & Art Gallery’s exhibition ‘Do you believe in Magic?’ and get inspiration from the objects from across the world for your own magical animations. Learn how to animate using different techniques and software and have fun telling stories with young people from all over the city.

How does it work?

On the Wednesday morning the group will log on to Zoom (a video call service) to take a virtual tour of Bristol Museum & Art Gallery's magic collection and then we will teach you how to animate. You will have time in between the morning and afternoon session to create your animation. We will meet again in the afternoon session to see what everyone has made!

As this is an online course we will give you as much support as we can over Zoom but it's important that you are happy and able to do some of the work on your own at home.

You will need to be able to access Zoom via a computer/tablet/mobile phone, if needed we will help you get set up with this before the course starts. You will also need to be able to download a free app called Stop Motion Studio to take part in the project.

We will check what materials you have at home and if there is anything else you need we will arrange to send it out to you so you can take part in the project.
