16-25? Out of work? Out of school? Want to learn more about film making? Get practical experience, work towards a deadline and push your creativity further than you've ever have before in this short course.

Make a short film with Richard Hale who has ten years experience as a film tutor working in all areas of teaching; directing, producing, camera, sound and editing. He has facilitated over 100 short films, documentaries and music videos.

Course details

WHERE: The Station, Silver Street, BS1 2AG 

WHEN: 13th April – May 5th, every Tuesday and Wednesday, 11am – 4pm.

COST: FREE (lunch and transport costs also covered)

This course is for 16-25 year olds who are currently out of work, education or training.   

On the course you will learn:

  • Learn how to tell a short story through film
  • Pre-production: having a vision and planning
  • Production: camera work & lighting
  • Post-production: editing
  • Have access to one to one support to help find employment, education or training
  • Get advice on how to build a portfolio
  • Have a direct opportunity to progress onto a work experience or volunteer placement within the creative sector and beyond
  • Have the opportunity to complete a Level 1 or Level 2 Arts Award qualification.
