Tenancy At The Courts Bristol's Old Magistrate's Courts is being transformed into a new home for the creative industries. It will offer unique, high-quality workspaces with retained original heritage features in the centre of Bristol. The building will bring people and organisations together to form a cohesive community of like-minded tenants, hirers and professionals. Young people will benefit hugely from a dedicated space to begin their careers in a thriving ecosystem where established and emergent creative talent will come together. Not your normal office The Courts will open in June 2024. Throughout its four floors, The Courts will foster collaboration, creativity, and innovation: the perfect working environment for the region’s growing creative workforce. It will offer long-term and quick-release tenancies as well as additional space and event hire options. Over 50 organisations spanning the creative, youth, and business sectors have already endorsed the project, such as Bristol Beacon, Business West, Creative Connex, and Visual Arts South West. The Courts form part of Bridewell Island, a complex of repurposed buildings including our youth venue, The Station (the city’s Old Fire Station). The ground floor will welcome the public and professionals alike, with a food and drink offer alongside meeting rooms, shared workspaces, rented offices, and a dedicated rehearsal/performance space.Three upper floors will be dedicated to high-quality offices. Space on all floors will enable network-making, mentoring, and other support for young talent by creative business tenants Despite its grade-listed status, The Courts will be fully accessible with lift access to all four floors. Thoughtful design will create memorable, flexible spaces where modern fittings blend with restored period features such as parquet flooring, roof lanterns, stained glass windows, and a judge's bench. The Courts will build on Creative Youth Network’s success in helping thousands of young people each year to fulfil their potential. Creativity is embedded throughout our work, spaces and programmes. Young people have been central to bringing The Courts to life and making a space that works for – and welcomes – other young people of all backgrounds. The Courts will offer accessible pathways to connect talented young creatives with each other and established professionals. By changing the face of the creative workforce for the future we can create an industry that is representative of our communities in Bristol and the West of England and is accessible to all.
