The Station is an accessible building with lift access to the first, second and third floors. There are accessible toilets located on every floor. The front of the venue has level paved access and there is on street parking directly outside of the main entrance (unrestricted with a blue badge.)

We welcome feedback on things we can do to improve the accessibility of our venue and website. Get in touch now.

Attending an event in the performance space

When attending a large event at the Station there is step free access available on Rupert street into our main space. If you would like to use this entrance, please come to our main reception desk (via the step free entrance on Silver street) and a member of staff can assist you. The performance space floor has level access and therefore has good sight lines and good visibility on the stage depending on crowd density and set up of space. The stage can be set at different heights – maximum of 1 meter. The smoking area is wheelchair accessible. If you would like to discuss the best options for your visit to the venue, please get in touch or speak to a member of staff on arrival.

Seating arrangements for theatre, music and dance performances vary and we unfortunately do not have a viewing platform.

There is a hearing induction loop system in the performance space with six available headsets.

Please contact us if you have any questions about the set-up for a particular event, or if you have specific access requirements.

Guide dogs

As a public space, guide dogs and personal assistance dogs are always permitted at The Station.

A gig may not be the best environment for your dog; specifically, the volume of music at such events over a sustained period and in an enclosed space - continuous sound levels max 107db / peak level max 140db - could pose harm to your dog's hearing. We recommend that you seek advice from your guide-dog school before attending a gig with your dog.

We have six evacuation chairs on site for those that need them in the event of a building evacuation. There are also refuge points outside the lift at first, second and third floors of the central staircase. The evacuation point for The Station is under the canopy near the H&M store on Nelson St.
