Step One

Head over to the app store and download a GPS tracking app such as Map My Walk (for iPhone, Android, or Windows). This app is recommended, however, as long as you have access to a GPS tracker that produces a visual representation of your walk, you're good to go.

Step Two

Choose a sense to focus on, such as sight, hearing, smell, and touch. Consider that the senses work together; one may be more dominant than the other but try to focus on one sense for the entire duration of your walk.

Step Three

Press the start button on the app and embark on your walk. If you can, and it is safe to do so, leave your phone in your pocket and focus on your chosen sense. Please be respectful of your surroundings and follow Government guidelines on social distancing.

Step Four

When you arrive back home (or your starting point), pause your activity via the app and save. Screen shot your GPS map and make note of the distance and duration. (You’ll need it for the submission). Get comfortable and attempt to describe the experience of your walk from memory. This can be done through writing, an audio recording or video. Try to focus on your chosen sense, if your experience was multi-sensory include that in your description.

Send your description, a screenshot of your GPS walk and the duration and distance of your walk to [email protected].
