We are open to all young people and offer a place to relax, get advice and support, and explore your interests and talents. The Station is a supportive and creative environment where you can express yourself freely. And for any problem, no matter how big or small, we're here to help. Some of the top youth organisations in the South West are here under the same roof, giving you a wide choice of services and things to do. The Station is open Mon-Fri from 9am - 9pm and Sat from 9am-5pm. We're also a vibrant event venue and this Autumn / Winter season we're bringing you a special Celebration Programme to celebrate 10 Years of The Station! Out of work? Out of school? Passionate about photography and want to learn more? Come join us in a relaxed course, where you can boost your skills and express your creativity for free. At the end of course, you'll get the amazing opportunity to exhibit a piece of your work at The Station Cafe, The Kitchen, for a month. No experience needed! Come and work with Jess Greenwood, a professional freelance photographer who's been working in Bristol for 10 years. Jess runs her own business and works in a range of photography practices, including wedding & events, music concerts, fashion & portrait and product. She also specialises in historical re-enactment events. I loved the course, it's been really fun. I've learnt a lot, met new people and got to work with great professionals. The group was well organised and everyone was supportive. I wanted to improve my confidence by taking part and this experience has done just that. I now know I can do so much more than I ever thought would be possible - Creative Careers Performing Arts course alumni What you'll gain Develop creative thinking and an eye for photography Learn photography skills to take better pictures Try a range of photography practices including studio and location portrait, landscape and abstract Understand different lighting techniques and how to use them Learn editing techniques to improve and enhance your pictures.- Get an understanding of working in the industry and the options available. Get work experience and complete a Level 1 or Level 2 Arts Award qualification Course details WHERE: The Station WHEN: 7th - 29th November, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 11am-4pm COST: FREE (lunch and transport costs also covered) This course is for 16-25 year olds who are currently out of work, education or training.
