We're delighted to have been selected by the National Citizen Service Trust as one of the 18 national organisations to deliver a new Pathfinder programme for young people. We're now recruiting young people from the South West to take part in this once in a lifetime opportunity.

The National Cititen Service (NCS) is a residential and community experience open to 16 to 17 year olds across England and Northern Ireland. The programme enables young people to develop skills which will help them in work and life, while building up their confidence, making new friends and giving back to their local community.

The new Pathfinders programme focuses on engaging young people who may not otherwise participate in NCS, giving the opportunity to engage in the project to all communities and testing new approaches to support NCS as it further develops.

Creative Youth Network is going to deliver Pathfinders in the South West, working in partnership with:

Young people taking part in the project will start with a three night residential, followed by three days of engagement with local Bristol organisations, developing skills such as leadership, communication and teamwork. Inspired by community leaders, they'll launch their own project to help out through 30 hours of volunteering and campaigning for their chosen cause.

Kate Gough, Director of Youth Services, said:

We are delighted to have been selected to deliver NCS to groups of young people who wouldn't have otherwise taken part of the project. Working closely together with our partners, we have a great opportunity to deliver a truly unique experience to young people. Young people will benefit from a variety of expertise, enjoying activities delivered by different providers.

Thank you to the NCS Trust for providing us with this wonderful opportunity.
