Textiles Young people have been experimenting with weaving, printmaking and sewing. Lockdown posed us with a problem: not everyone has access to the same materials. So we used recycled materials, making looms for weaving out of cardboard, stamps for block printing with household items and upcycling clothes and other materials to make new exciting pieces. The final sewing project was self-led and the group took the reins to design and create their own piece of textile work. The results are wonderfully creative and many of the young people have taught themselves new skills! The photographs of their work express the variation of different skills and ideas that each member bought to the group. Have you enjoyed seeing how young people expressed themselves during lockdown?
