A Tonne of Feathers

"A tonne of feathers" is a social action project bringing young people's voices and concerns to life through dynamic artworks.

You know how people ask: what's heavier? A tonne of feathers or a tonne of gold?

And you want to say the gold, cause in your mind, it's heavy. But both weigh the same because you haven't said how many feathers or how much gold.

That's how we can make change - we are many so our voices, together, are just as important as other people who are considered more. So let's gather a tonne of feathers.

- young person in Arts Club group

Young people's voices are often left unheard and not appreciated when it comes to making change happen. We want to change this.

"A tonne of feathers" is our action towards engaging you with under-represented young people's voices. Through a series of artistic interventions, we are engaging a wide range of young people and empowering them to enact positive change in their lives.

We have commissioned talented emerging artists to engage with young people in our small targeted groups, working together to capture and share the voices of young people in Bristol.

Thank you to Comic Relief and Arts Council England for funding this project.

"A tonne of feathers" is part of our CreativeYOU campaign, which champions the right of every young person to access creativity and development opportunities in the creative and cultural industries.
