Ryan Convery-Moroney | Exhibition 2023

This month's exhibition is a solo show by Ryan Convery-Moroney who’s a young photographer who we’ve had the pleasure of having on Creative Futures before.

This body of work is dedicated to documenting my time spent working at a traditionally trading, cash only, uncomputerised greengrocers in the heart of Britain's longest independent shopping street of Gloucester Road. Pawsons has remained largely unchanged since the 60s and has truly stood the test of time. Even in an instance of rapid modernisation with a global pandemic, uncertainty, and pressures to switch to digital transactions, the shop remains popular with the community it serves.

The trajectories of this series has undergone many paths in my mind, with no formalised underpinning. It has transcended between the shop, its community, position in todays modernising society, the threat of traditions and uncertainty that forms around keeping up with the pace of a changing world.

Whilst in the process of moulding the purpose of the work, this show is an open invitation and welcoming for all to comment and critique. Please write down your thoughts and drop them in the Pawsons Postbox.

Nimbus Sounds: Our partnership to provide young people with access to music

Creative Youth Network, Basement Studios, Trinity Arts Centre and Aspiration Elevation Creation (ACE), work together to create a journey for young people, many of whom have limited access to music provision. It allows young people to create music in settings that they feel comfortable and no matter what their level of experience - from within their youth clubs, through to bespoke courses and even up to developing original tracks and progressing into professional music opportunities.

From May to June, Lottie Steward's solo exhibition will be on display at The Station! Lottie combines contemporary, botanical, and occult symbolism to express transitory states and moments of self-discovery. Lotties perspective as a student mental health nurse and young creative is portrayed through the mediums of poetry, sculpture, and oil painting.

One to One Support in Bristol

It is with regret that we are now closed to referrals to the Targeted Youth Service (TYS) as of Wednesday 15th March. However, BDP are still accepting referrals for all young people age 11+ who are involved with substances and/or affected by family use.
Who we are

Creative Youth Network is a registered charity based in Bristol, in the South West of England. We are youth workers, professional artists, freelancers, volunteers and campaigners. We help all young people to reach their potential and live fulfilling lives, by building secure, positive relationships with them based on the unique needs of each person.
