What made you apply for creative futures?

The opportunity to be mentored and supported by a diverse group of creative professionals really appealed to me. Not only will it hopefully push my creative skills further but also grow my confidence in meeting and working with other people. The chance to curate my own way to use my creative skills to teach other young people sounded very rewarding too!

Tell us about the work you are currently making?

I currently write music and create videos and animations for my band Piin. I also compose for various film and theatre productions and perform playing bass guitar in various bands in and around Bristol. You can check out my work on my website here if you like.

What topics would you like to explore and why?

I am intending to explore the complex phenomenon of climate change using immersive music, film and storytelling. I wish to create a piece which questions our emotional connection to the planet. I am interested in this subject as I believe it to be such a fundamentally important issue, as earth is our only home. I am also curious about what part the artist can play in helping insight social change and patterns of behaviour.

What are you most excited to do on creative futures?

I'm very excited about making a new piece to be shown in June. I've been gathering ideas for the project for quite a long time now so it's very exciting for it to be fully realised! I'm also really looking forward to being around the other creative futures artists as we can bounce ideas off of each other and hopefully push one another to make some brilliant work.

Where do you see yourself at the end of the programme?

I see myself with greater confidence in my work, a better sense of how to interweave music and visual art and have grown my skills at leading and teaching creative activities.
