8. Creating spaces for our partners and tenants

Our buildings are buzzing with tenants and hirers, mostly charities, to whom we offer affordable rates, with all income supporting our work.

Long-standing tenants at Creative Youth Network

At The Station we provide a diverse range of spaces and cater to a range of local organisations including a sexual health and family planning clinic; dance and actors studios; local radio; mental health services; festival planners; an orchestra; film directors; laser tag; a local youth offending team; Gallery and exhibition space for local artists as well as a local media company.

Tenants have access to the building Monday – Friday 9am-9pm, Saturday 9am-5pm. They can request out of hours access is required. Ujima have 24/7 access due to the nature of their business.

The tenants receive a receptionist and post service, maintenance, a monthly tenant newsletter and a quarterly tenant meeting. We also send our satisfaction surveys to our tenants yearly.

St Anne's House

Do you want a regular place to be creative and meet your mates? St Anne's Young People runs on Tuesdays 5-7pm and as a group by young people, for young people. It runs with the support of a team of creative youth workers from Bricks and Creative Youth Network.

9. The Courts

The Courts will be comprehensively reimagined from a place of punishment into a vibrant enterprise centre supporting disadvantaged yet talented young people aged 16-25 to overcome the barriers locking them out of the creative industries. A place where the only things that count are their abilities and talents.
7. Creating safe, welcoming and accessible spaces

The Station is our centrally located creative hub based in the heart of Bristol city centre. In 2021 it was host to over 1,300 young people who came through its doors to either access some of Creative Youth Network’s activities or to visit one of our tenant organisations.
2. Building Positive Relationships

Building positive relationships is at the core of our work; without a trusting relationship between the young person and their case worker, a positive outcome is much harder to achieve and can take significantly more time whilst that trust is built.
1. Helping Young People in Crisis

Creative Youth Network’s The Station is our centrally located youth hub in heart of Bristol. Providing a safe, warm, welcoming and creative space, it is open to ALL young people and is somewhere they can be themselves.
6. Amplifying Youth Voice

33% of the Bristol population are under the age of 25. Young people with thoughts and opinions on a variety of topics including local council services and provision, the economy, climate change, lgbtqia+ matters, inequality, mental health, creative services as well as local gang and knife crime.
5. Working with diverse communities

Bristol is known for being a city rich and diverse in its culture. Beneath the surface however, there are pockets of the local community in which the young people with whom we work are vastly under-represented.
4. Supporting young people in employment, education and training

Sometimes young people might not have the same support structure within the home, where they might experiencing barriers, such as substance misuse, violence, physical/sexual abuse, mental health issues or even have caring responsibilities that prevent them from being able to thrive.

One to One Support in Bristol

It is with regret that we are now closed to referrals to the Targeted Youth Service (TYS) as of Wednesday 15th March. However, BDP are still accepting referrals for all young people age 11+ who are involved with substances and/or affected by family use.
Who we are

Creative Youth Network is a registered charity based in Bristol, in the South West of England. We are youth workers, professional artists, freelancers, volunteers and campaigners. We help all young people to reach their potential and live fulfilling lives, by building secure, positive relationships with them based on the unique needs of each person.

The Station

The Station is Bristol's Central Youth Hub and we have a session every night, Monday to Friday. Come and learn new skills, hang out with friends in the evenings, and get support – all in a relaxed, creative environment.
Creative Programmes

We believe in the power of creativity, and the unique way in which this can allow self-expression and unlock young people’s potential. From local art clubs up to support for emerging young artists, musicians, performers and creatives, we want young people from all backgrounds to have access to creativity.
