What made you apply for Creative Futures?

Due to the administration side of it, it has been a struggle for me to freelance professionally since graduation. This programme interested me a lot because guiding us through the process of freelancing was a part of it.

Tell us about the piece of work you’re currently making.

I am making a series of digital paintings inspired by ancient Abyssinian’s art. The series of images will reflect the culture and the society I grew up in, which was Ethiopia, Addis Ababa.

What are you most excited to do on Creative Futures?

This idea was in my mind for over 4 years and its very exciting to finally have the opportunity to make happen.

Where do you see yourself at the end of the programme?

Exhibiting my final piece will be the first thing i see my self doing in the 6 months. I will then get on with my freelance work in a professional manner.
