Parys Gardener is a multi award-winning contemporary digital illustrator based in Bristol, UK. She creates Pop art with a modern edge.

As a freelance artist, Parys works with brands to produce engaging and inclusive material used for marketing or editorial purposes alongside selling illustrated merchandise that centres the experience of black British women via an online shop.

 

 

Her work has been commissioned for collaborative projects with Banksy, she had her first solo exhibition in Amsterdam in 2018/2019 and has been commissioned by brands such as Nike, Footlocker, Facebook and gal-dem.

 

At University, she developed a passion for communicating theories surrounding identity and culture and takes inspiration from her background and family history. You'll find elementals of popular culture, intersectional feminism, Black and Caribbean British stories throughout her work.

 

Parys enjoys working with colour, tone and pattern across digital processes to create bright, vibrant and engaging illustrations. Her work highlights the voices and narratives of people from a diverse range of social and economic backgrounds through the perspective of her story and experiences.
